Los Angeles burns.
Your community needs you.

Become a volunteer firefighter with Southern California Wildfire Response.

Become the Firefighter Your Community Can Count On.

Fire season in Los Angeles isn’t really a season anymore. Dry brush, extreme heat, and Santa Ana winds mean a wildland fire can start fast and outrun the agencies built to contain it. Southern California Wildfire Response exists to close that gap: trained volunteer firefighters patrolling WUI neighborhoods, responding to wildland fires and all-hazard emergencies, and standing alongside career agencies when Los Angeles needs more people on the line.

We’re recruiting our next class now. No fire experience required. What we’re looking for is someone willing to show up, train hard, and actually do the work.

What you walk away with

  • Nationally recognized NWCG and FEMA certifications — S-130/S-190, ICS-100/200, Firefighter Type I & II

  • Real incident experience inside a credentialed command structure, not just a classroom

  • Access to SCWR’s 45-acre training ground in the Santa Monica Mountains

  • A verified service record that carries weight in fire service, emergency management, or public safety careers

  • A crew that shows up for the same reason you do
