Trained. Equipped. Deployed.
Southern California Wildfire Response (SCWR) is a public nonprofit wildland fire agency founded in 2021 out of a simple recognition — our region’s disaster environment had outgrown the systems designed to manage it. Built entirely on volunteer service, our trained firefighters and EMTs operate across Los Angeles and Southern California, running patrols, responding to active incidents, and showing up prepared when conditions are at their worst.

Prevention, Response, Recovery
Southern California Wildfire Response (SCWR) is a public nonprofit wildland fire and all-hazard emergency response agency built entirely on volunteer service. Our personnel are trained firefighters and EMTs — deployed on active operations, not standing at the perimeter. We run patrols, respond to wildfires, and operate in the field the same way a fire agency does, because that’s exactly what we are.
SCWR grew out of LAIT911 Fire, a platform that became a trusted source for real-time emergency awareness across Los Angeles. As the region’s disaster environment worsened and community needs grew, the mission expanded beyond alerts and information into full operational response. SCWR became the agency built to meet that moment — and LAIT911 remains the public-facing technology platform behind it, delivering real-time incident data, aircraft tracking, radio traffic, and emergency notifications to the public.
We were founded in 2021 with a straightforward premise: Southern California’s fire and disaster landscape had changed faster than the systems designed to manage it. Extreme fire weather, erratic wind-driven spread, and rapid ignition potential across dense foothill and wildland-urban interface communities created a persistent gap between when emergencies start and when adequate help arrives. SCWR exists to close that gap.
Our operations are centered in Los Angeles and extend across the surrounding region based on conditions, mutual aid needs, and resource availability. Core operations include wildfire prevention and suppression, active patrol programs in high-risk corridors, early detection, and coordinated response support during major incidents. Every person on our team volunteered to be here — trained, equipped, and ready to operate in conditions most people are evacuating from.
We don’t do this for recognition. We do it because this region needs people who show up prepared, operate with discipline, and stay until the work is done.
